The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will conduct a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed new rule §380.202 under Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 380, Subchapter B, concerning Program Services; amendments to §380.101 under Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 380, Subchapter A, concerning Definitions of Terms; §§380.201, 380.203, 380.205, 380.207, and 380.209 under Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 380, Subchapter B, concerning Eligibility, Program Requirements, Program Processes, Program Limitations, and Program Exclusions; amendments to §380.301 under Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 380, Subchapter C, concerning Client Rights and Responsibilities; amendments to §380.401 under Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 380, Subchapter D, concerning Individual Transportation Participant Requirements;  and amendments to §§380.501 and 380.502 under Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 380, Subchapter E, concerning Standards for Motor Vehicles and Standards for Motor Vehicle Operators. The proposed new rule and amendments were published in the May 2, 2014, issue of the Texas Register. See 39 Tex Reg. 3522.

The proposed amendments and new rules define the term “managed transportation organization” and specify requirements of participation in the Medical Transportation Program (MTP) as required by Senate Bill 8, 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, 2013. In addition, the amended rules update references to agencies, delete obsolete citations and definitions, and update language to reflect current policy for the MTP.
